jews were the
adversaries of Israelites
1Ki 11:14 And
the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad
the Edomite: he [was] of the king's seed in Edom.
And thy mighty [men], O Teman, shall be
dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by
For [thy] violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover
thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
Obadiah 1:11 In the day
that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that
the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his
gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou [wast]
as one of them.
1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the
devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom
he may devour:
Nehemiah 4:10-12 And Judah
said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and [there is] much
rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall. And our adversaries said, They shall not
know, neither see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and
cause the work to cease. And it
came to pass, that when the Jews which dwelt by them came, they said unto us
ten times, From all places whence ye shall return unto
us [they will be upon you].
Ezr 4:1 Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin
heard that the children of the captivity builded the
temple unto the LORD God of Israel;
Ezr 4:2 Then they came to Zerubbabel,
and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for
we seek your God, as ye [do]; and we do
sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur,
which brought us up hither.
Ezr 4:3 But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel,
said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God;
but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus
the king of Persia hath commanded us.
Ezr 4:24 Then ceased the work of the house of God which [is] at Jerusalem. So it ceased unto the second
year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.
It was the JEWS, not the Arabs, who prevented the
ISRAELITES from rebuilding the temple.
