I recently attended the official announcement ceremony of the National First Families Library/Museum at the Marshfield (Mo.) High School auditorium. Twenty-six representatives of families of American presidents were in attendance, and it was a great privilege to be present at such a distinguished gathering.
As a lifelong Democrat, active in party politics, I am interested in the history of our country and appreciate all the contributions that have been made by patriots of all political parties. It was especially interesting to hear Devon Nixon, nephew of President Richard Nixon, explain what it was like to be related to him and to be reminded of many of his accomplishments.
The stories that James Auchincloss, Jackie Kennedys half-brother, told about his sister and her husband were quite interesting and funny.
This event was organized by Nicholas Inman of Marshfield, who, like Devon Nixon, I predict, will go far in politics.
