connect error 10060

Why does nobody on the net, nor with email services, ever describe what this error is?

It is a catch all error used to CENSOR political speech?

Does anyone know how to configure YPOPS?
I use outlook express 6 and keep getting this error message:
The server responded with an error. Account: 'My Yahoo', Server: '120.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Cannot connect to POP server 120.0.0.1 (120.0.0.1:110), connect error 10060', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

Anyone have a solution to this? I've used the configurations on their website and they don't work.
I use Avast and Sygate Firewall.
Thanks

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Hi XpUser4Real,

Ensure the Incoming and Outgoing mail within the Server tab of the account settings is set to 127.0.0.1

It appears yours is set to 120.0.0.1

Best Regards,
Mesich

Thanks Mesich....I just got tired of working it, so I tried Pop Peeper and it works pretty well the same and is also free. A good utulity to get alerts on all your accounts.
Thanks for the reply.

Hi XpUser4Real,

Your very welcome.

I don't use either one of them myself. I only downloaded YPOPS after seeing your problem to check out a possible solution.

I shall keep Pop Peeper in mind for others that wish to use POP3 with the free Yahoo email.

Best Regards,
Mesich

Oh boy,
Pop Peeper worked ok on 3 of my yahoo accounts, then it messed up my 4th account and all I'm getting is a 999 error from yahoo.
Bear in mind, my first 3 accounts worked fine. So, once again, I ununstalled pop peeper and even did a system restore to before I installed it. That one account is still not accessible. I contacted yahoo and they said I should contact my ISP. I did that, and they said it was Yahoo's problem, because I can still access the other 3 accounts.
Can you help me any on that?
I also replied to yahoo to check it out on their end.
Thanks again.

Also, if anyone has a problem accessing mail from yahoo, they can still get it at this address:

http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/

Luckily I found that through google.

Hi XpUser4Real,

Is the 4th account a Free Yahoo account or is it a Premium account?
