Subject: Spazgirl's answer (oh, and I corrected your spelling)
Marriage is a social contract whose value has been greatly exagerated and used by the church to control the reproductive lives of women and the sexual lives of all. Historically, it has legally placed a woman at a disadvantage in that she no longer had her own identity; once she married a man she gave up her rights to ownership and her own name. Only in the past century through the tireless efforts of women has this inequity been corrected. Only in the recent century could a physically or emotionally battered woman make the choice to leave her marriage without the loss of her home, children, and reputation. Only in this century could a woman's contrabution for having worked in the home be considered of value.
Additionally, couples who desired a life together were forced by the church, via the government, to perform and enter the marriage contract, without which their love and devotion was not recognized.
The power of feminism to uplift women and give them choices over their lives is exemplified by the following statements: "I don't want to lead the life that my mother led, living with a man who abused and/or demeaned her because she had no choice" or, "most women had to give up their legal rights to self-hood when they married and had children", or "I choose wait before entering such a union".
Men, on the other hand, have found it easier and easier to punish women for rejecting their violence and control by refusing to honor the commitment they gave when having children; they force the women who leave them to live in poverty while statistics show that men after divorce usually have a rise in their standard of living.
Deprivation of his presence damages boys and girls alike and creates social pathology which harms every citizen. Children whose fathers are disinterested in their welfare absorb the majority of welfare spending and produce the vast majority of criminals. Many prisoners behind bars grew up in homes in which their fathers had chosen not to be involved with them.
THEREFORE: I assert that children have a right to live a life of love and care, and have their basic needs provided for by both parents. I assert mothers have the right to preserve their incomes and independence without loss of their rights as parents. Enforcing said rights will eliminate incentives for "dead beat dads" and men who are abusive to their wives; possibly diminish welfare spending; reduce the public debt incurred by attempts to replace fathers with government subsidies; restore incentives and vitality to our economy; reduce taxes; and promote healthier, happier children who grow up with a greater sense of commitment to the society that raised them.
HENCE, I, PROUD FEMINIST AND MOTHER OF THREE, RESOLVE, on September 8, 1995, to oppose all attempts to extort love from me by refusing to support my children without it. I make the choice to live only with a man who supports and nurtures my humanness, and values me for something other than my reproductivity. I make the choice not to live with a man who demeans my dreams, ambitions, and intellect. I resolve to fight any attempt by so-called "father's rights groups" to return us to a time in which women were chattle, and lacked any identity and rights. I resolve to fight the biased gender agenda by honorable, vigorous, and sustained means. I commit myself to protecting my family and honoring individualism. I vow to provide physical, legal, and emotional care to our current and future children in exchange for equal rights, respect, and the removal of all attempts to control my life based on my status as a mother.
Now, are we all finished with generalizations here? Good. Then lets move on...

The people I'm furious with are the Women's Liberationists. They keep proclaiming women are brighter than men. That's true, but it should be kept quiet or it ruins the whole racket. --Anita Loos _______________________________________________

>The power of feminism to destroy families is exemplified by statements >like: "I don't want to lead the life that my mother had" or "most >mother-women give up whatever ghost of a unique and human self they may >have when they 'marry' and raise children." The present feminist concept >of women's "independence" really means a government-enforced entitlement >to be paid for the rewards of being a mother, without all of the >responsibilities that go with it: to men, to children especially, and >ultimately to the world at large.
I will admit that I couldn't read this HATEFUL SHIT any further than this paragraph. I have no need nor intention to waste my time reading anything further from you.
You have made your views on women and feminism clear in this post. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ON THIS LIST????
In passive, dominated, loving, silent and nurturing feminine sisterhood,
