Remission of Sins

The phrase "remission of sins" has been taken by judeochristians to mean that baptism will wipe out all transgressions of God's Law, leaving judeochristians who "accept Christ" free to sin--and sin--and sin.

And sin they did.  With a smugness only such contrary concepts could engender, they murdered 40 million of God's Children in the womb, created a "justice system" to permit the quarter of a million mamzers who killed a million fellow Americans free to roam the countryside, reward 25 million sinful American wives with "custody" of bastards they conceived in adultery, quintupled the illegitimacy rate, all with nary a single worry about what God promised in the Old Testament that He WILL do to them for such gross violations of His Law.

Unfortunately, their smugness is based on a serious misinterpretation of a single word:  remission.

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

aphesis

af'-es-is

From G863; freedom; (figuratively) pardon: - deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission.

This same Greek word aphesis appears as both deliverance and liberty in Luke 4:18:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised

With the literal definition of this word being freedom being almost 180 degrees contradictory to the figurative definition remission, and to be consistent with the Old Testament, the following is the ONLY acceptable translation from this Scripture:

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost for freedom from sins.

This closes the loophole which permits judeochristians to assert that God's Law was "nailed to the cross", "writen in our hearts", "fulfilled by Christ", or otherwise discarded, and places the blame for their own actions back on their own personal moral system.  It reminds them that receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit [not Ghost] means only that they will not sin, not that they will be given a fire escape if they DO permit 40 million more of God's Children to be murdered in the womb and 4 million fellow Americans to be murdered by mamzers.

Colossians 2:14-22

The KJV translation, or the old English language, does confuse the issue to those unversed in God's Law, but a comparison `with contemporary English translations clears away the confusion for everyone:

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; [King James Version]

God wiped out the charges that were against us for disobeying the Law of Moses. He took them away and nailed them to the cross. [Contemporary English Version]
