The total score on the SAT Math test is 800 points.  A number of those points are awarded when the student signs the test. A portion of those 800 points are awarded when the student correctly answers multiple choice questions, some part of which a student would get correct by guessing. Another portion of those points are awarded to students who correctly answer memorization questions rather than problem solving questions.  The last portion of those 800 points are awarded to students who correctly apply math principles to problem sovling.
