The Interfaith Alliance Executive Director to Visit Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Reverend Dr. C. Welton Gaddy, national Executive Director of The Interfaith Alliance (TIA), Washington, DC, will deliver the keynote address at the Third Anniversary Celebration and Annual Meeting of the Interfaith Alliance of Middle Tennessee, 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, at West End United Methodist Church, McWhirter Hall.

Dr. Gaddy is a national religious leader and author of several books, including Faith and Politics. In addition to his many leadership roles, Dr. Gaddy provides national commentary and analysis on matters of faith and politics on programs such as the NBC Evening News, the News Hour with Jim Lehrer, and CNN, among others.

The Annual Meeting and address will be preceded by a dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to the dinner and/or meeting. Reservations for the dinner, $8/person, can be made by calling (615) 352-4702 or (615) 321-3157. Entertainment will be provided by Gene Cotton, nationally known singer and songwriter.

Founded in 1994, The Interfaith Alliance is a national grassroots organization of people drawn from over 50 faith traditions dedicated to promoting mutual respect, cooperation, and civility in the life of our nation. With a membership of 80,000, a national religious leaders network in 50 states, a cyber network of 10,000 activists, and local clergy-led Alliances in 38 states, The Interfaith Alliance is encouraging the active involvement of people of faith and goodwill in civic life.

The Interfaith Alliance of Middle Tennessee (IAMT) is a nonpartisan, interreligious network affiliated with the national Interfaith Alliance. IAMT seeks to articulate a promote the principles that unify all faiths--compassion, tolerance, and justice--and to affirm the values of respect a community against the politics of division. The Rev.
