Dear All,

A few days ago Arnold solicited my opinion on the issue LAW vs. SPIRIT. Though I am only a student of the Word, I always feel reluctant to give my thoughts. I do not want, nor have the time to be drawn into arguments. The reason I wrote a few lines was that it bothers me, and always has, that quite a lot of the B.I. and Identity groups and even some of my teachers adhere to a theory that someday, somehow a Phineas priesthood will start to administer and, or execute the LAW or TORAH. It also hurts me to read hateful commentary about our fellow sinning Israelite brothers from people who have been given TRUTH by our Father. It is for that reason that I like to take the time to see if I can be clearer than before, so that my understanding may be a help for others.

For the People of Israel this issue LAW vs. SPIRIT, has been a contentious one for the last nearly 2000 year. Many people, including the great teachers whose words are recorded in the Bible, have spoken out and for many it was to no avail. Disciples now and through the ages found it often hard to make the paradigm shift, they had difficulties to see the picture. Well, of course Yahweh does not want all of us to see immediately. For many, words of understanding fall by the wayside, words that tell that Grace will and can NEVER replace the LAW! If this is true, is the Law than still in place and should the Law be enforced?

The issue at hand is, are we waiting or is there a time coming that someone will initiate some kind of a Phineas Priesthood? Is there a time coming that Fathers elect will execute and administer punishments to their fellow Israelite brothers in the form of killing, or stoning the homosexual, adulterer or abortionist? Do we think that with the inauguration of The Tabernacle Age or the New Millennium or whatever you want to call it, we will have a bloodbath or killing exercise of all those sinning Israelites as well as Jews etc? Administered and executed by His elect? I do not think so! Why do I think that will not be so?

In one week, 50,000 men of the Tribe of Benjamin [Judges 20] were slain by their fellow Israelites, leaving only 600 men alive, because of the murder of ONE harlot.  WWII can be viewed as a continuation of the battle between the House of Judah and the House of Israel, and 265 million Israelites died in that slaughter within the last century.  To believe that history doesn't repeat itself is an incredibly arrogant position.

It is important that one understands the meaning of the Feastdays and The Tabernacle to see and understand the overall picture of Fathers plan. However many do not, so I will try to circumvent this, because of time and space.

It is Fathers good will and purpose to create a people for Himself. He is Sovereign and He has caused to bring about a creation that will ultimately be filled with Him. That everything and all will glorify Him. This is too much for us to fully understand now, but that is His purpose, His Word testifies of that. He has created a people to Himself to bring this all about, His people Israel!

Israel as a Nation as well as each of the individuals will be taught of His Sovereign Power. That teaching happens through an experience of total submission of "self " for the individual and subsequently for the nation. One needs to see and..........understand that Yahweh is All Powerful. That All things are His. Even the tiniest thought of all of Israel of all of the individuals were known and purposed by Him before the World began. This is crucial for every one of us to come to that point of understanding in his or her life. Believe me everyone will come to that but, in His time. The point in time of realising that we cannot do anything out of ourselves will prove a blessing beyond belief! We can only "overcome" through Him for one hundred percent! This is the experience that our Father Jacob had when He fought the angel. He lost after a nightlong fight. His whole life, I belief he was 97 at that time, he must have thought that he had to rely for a good part on himself to bring about the promises that had been made to him and his fathers. It was a battle and a life of trickery and crafty deception. Oftentimes he must have felt justified just to have to: "help Yahweh along". At times it must have felt "tough going" for him. In the end he was confronted with his archenemy Esau, than He had that fight where he finally had to ADMIT that he could not win, he could not do it! To his brother he tried to explain his experience of that fight in Gen. 33:10 "......I have seen thy face as though I had seen the face of Yahweh" He saw Yahweh in his enemy! He lost the fight, but by loosing he won. He lost his battle but overcame self! How? By admitting Yahweh’s sovereign power in himself. Therefore his name was changed into:"Israel" which means: "Yahweh rules" not as many say: "ruler with God". This admitting of his total inadequacy this total surrender of self, this stage of admitting that one cannot do anything out of one self is for many a hard thing to chew upon, because what is left of Free Will? Is there anything like Free Will? This subject is too big for me now to dwell upon and it falls outside the scope of this letter. I am sorry I need to leave this to others or for another time.

The Scripture tells us that Jacob prevailed, and that this is why his name was changed to Israel, which means "he will rule as God":

Genesis 32:28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.

Because of this error in reading the Scripture, the entire notion that Jacob won by losing is invalidated, even before considereing the lunacy of such a converse principle.

Father gave us the LAW. Israel understood the LAW. After Moses had spoken they said, "We will do"! That started a covenant of Father with the people of Israel. He nourished them, He forgave them many times, rebuked and punished them uncountable times. He raised prophets, powerful in His Name to warn them of their Sins and the need for the washing of their iniquities. And finally, because of their disobedience they broke His covenant as you can read in Jer. 11:6-10. Did this perfect LAW and its administration and execution bring the people of Israel to Him? Did it? No! However, and this is more important, did Israel realise and learn of Fathers Sovereign Power? They realised that they could have a relationship with Him, yes! But that they were totally dependent on Him? No, they did not realise that. That was not His purpose for them to learn at that stage! His first step was made, because of adultery Israel ended the relationship. Was this giving of the LAW a mistake? No certainly not, it was the foundation of Truth that the fleshly mind could not obey. That was established then, and is known to us now.

How someone can learn about the most important, most successful, most everlasting covenant in human history and claim that it didn't bring the people of Israel to Him is almost beyond comprehension.

Of COURSE it was a success, and of COURSE it was a success because God ORDAINED it to be a success.  The point that's being missed here is that the ebbs and tides of the obedience of Israelites to God's Law coincided with their good and bad fortune:  when they obeyed God, they prospered, and when they didn't, they suffered immensely.

Years later, Father was ready for His next step. The LAW alone was insufficient. Again, I did not say: not good, or imperfect, no the LAW indeed was perfect, but it was the first step and on itself insufficient to bring Israel to HIM. So He took the blame for the sins of Israel upon Himself, by giving His Life in the form of His own perfect Son. Thereby he took away the curse of the LAW so that Grace could abound upon the repentant sinner. Was the LAW now less powerful?

What a tactul way to say that God screwed up.  God did NOT screw up, taking away "the curse of the LAW" did NOT take away God's Law, and Jesus was a pure sacrifice to God without blemish to bring the House of Israel BACK to God's Law.  Whew, why do Israelites HATE God's Law so much?

No in the contrary the apostles and especially Paul not only testified of the validity of the LAW, they expounded upon the deeper meaning and intent of the LAW! Why can't we read of any account in Yahshua's life that He wanted to reinstate the physical punishments upon the sinners of that time? It was, because Father was planning the next stage of His great plan that will ultimately bring about His Glory in Israel and in ALL and ALL! That next stage was the availability of His spirit that started in 33 AD. That Spirit of Him was added to the LAW, making the LAW more powerful in its application and purpose. With the earnest of His Spirit we can see His Love for us in an intimate way. Most important aspects of His Spirit available after His death is that we are able to have a direct relationship with Him through His Son. Now we can repent before Him on a personal level and forgive our brother.

Then why are both the House of Israel and the House of Judah far worse violators of God's Law now than they've ever been?  If this "correction" to God's Law was such a great idea, then why does the US now have the undisputed highest rates of incarceration, rape, homicide, divorce, and illegitimacy in the entire world, even worse than many African nations?

This all is added to the LAW. At the time that our Saviour lived there were plenty of "Lawgivers" who lobbied for an administration and execution of the LAW as it was done before! We have all read the accounts, However Yahshua chose not to do that. This was not Father’s plan and purpose.

You are confusing God's Law with man's [read: the jews'] law.   Wouldn't Jesus be quite a hypocrite if He condemned the jews for breaking God's Law, at the same time that He Himself was planning to do what you're claiming here?:

Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition? Matthew 15:3

Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. Mark 7:13

Yahshua was progressing, and going forward. He had already shown us that this administering and executing did not work. The marriage broke up. Oh yes it brought temporary fear and obedience, but fell short on His purpose to create in us a realisation of His Sovereignty in our corporate and personal lives. As a light note I like to tell you about a few of our Singaporean tourists that came to visit our shop. I commended a gentleman about his peoples disciplined way of life that kept his society clean and safe. He smiled at me and told me that if the punishments were not there than they would throw their rubbish on the road and crime would increase as it is here in Australia. Now many may think that will prove the point in establishing LAW and ORDER. Is not that then the way that we should go? No, Yahweh has decided otherwise. He as the master LAWGIVER as THE SOVEREIGN decided that it is not man to establish law and order though the sword. However that the LAW should become a part of something to be desired. The LAW is "TRUTH" and HE IS "TRUTH". It is for man a difficult way to grow to TRUTH through pain and sorrow, but that is the way that FATHER has decided it to do, and the only way. On a national and personal level! Not through the Sword.

How can you characterize the most successful race on the planet, one that's been around for perhaps 4,000 years, as "temporary fear and obedience"?  Isn't this about like saying that "God was stupid, but now he's wised up"!  Even Muslim countries have laws against littering, and against murder, just as we do, in spite of your adverse theory that we don't need laws.

Just to digress a little, I would like to answer a few of you, who may quote me from Luke 22:36 ".....he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one" Many take this verse as an urgent admonition to arm ourselves in order to defend our loved ones or to attack our enemies. However this statement of our "saviour" is not meant to be interpreted like that at all! This verse should, as with all verses in His Word been read and understood in the context wherein it is written. Yahshua was well aware of the times and circumstances wherein He was at the time just before His death. Yahweh and His Son were one. Yahweh was the director and Sovereign and His Son knew exactly of the times and moments of the historical events that were leading up to His sacrifice. In these last hours he had an intimate relationship with His disciples. He directed them to meet a man that would avail the upper room to eat the Passover. He entered with them into a covenant relationship wherein He would become Sin by giving of Himself the Bread and Wine so that we could have Life. Every step what He took, every word what He spoke were not general admonitions or teachings, but had deep spiritual meaning leading up to a final climax. He was in total contact with Father who directed Him in the events what followed. In verse 21 of Luke 22 He said:".....the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table". He appealed to the conscience mind of Judas to do whatever he needed to do. Some of His disciples expected to become leaders and prominent figures. He told them that they had to be aware to become like Him, humble and serving the least. He told them that they were going to " eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel"

Jesus says "he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one', and you claim that He really didn't mean that, just as you claim that God didn't really mean to make all these silly laws that bothered Israelites for thousands of years, probably just as you proclaim that "Jesus came to bring peace", even though Jesus said:  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Mat 10:34

Who do we trust, Henk?  Jesus' own words, or your milquetoast theories?

Yahshuah was preparing and consecrating His disciples to become priests in the order of Melchisedek, this in contrast to the consecration and tasks of the Aaron priesthood described in Ex. 29. He told Simon of some special personal persecutions that was going to happen in the moments following in the form of proof of loyalty for Him. In verse 35, He asked them and made them aware that even the barest of physical possessions were not needed to do the task at hand. Again this in stark contrast to the "old" priesthood with it garments, mitre, crown etc.

Ironically, the Melchisedek priests and their priesthood were EXCLUDED from the everlasting covenant God made with Abraham through Jacob, which necessitated the Levitical Priesthood.  The Melchisedek priesthood was for ben Adam [read: sons of Adam] and the Levitical Priesthood was EXCLUSIVELY for ben Israel [sons of Israel].  If the ben Adam were such wonderful folks, then why did the LORD command ben Israel to DESTROY them utterly, many times over?

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee [Abraham] and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. Gen 17:7

Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac; And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant, 1Ch 16:16-17

Deuteronomy 7:2 and when Jehovah thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shalt smite them; then thou shalt utterly destroy them: thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them;

Deuteronomy 7:3 neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

Now in verse 36 He started to talk to the conscience of them who had possessions. Again He had a word spoken to the conscience of Judas who was the treasurer and told him: he that hath a purse let him take it, and likewise his scrip" Yahshuah knew that Judas was in there for the money, for personal gain. He also knew that Peter had some garments. It were the garments that played such a symbolic part in the consecration of the priests in the old order, as you have read in Ex 20 that needed to be sold. That was finished, done away. Now it was time to purchase a SWORD. Not a literal sword, but to use the sword of His mouth see Eph. 6:17, Hebr. 4:12, Rev. 2:16 This is Yahshuah’s intent for all of His followers. Peter and many after him had to learn a lesson.

Luk 22:38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

Of course Yahshuah knew that Peter was a "go getter" and that he had an impulsive character, a fiery man. Of course He knew that he indeed would purchase a sword. For Peter it was meant to be so, it was predestined that he would buy a literal sword. Peter thought he understood what His master said: " It was finished with the old priesthood and we are going to bring in the new priesthood". And: "I am going to be a great help for my Master", so he may have thought. When he saw some time later Malchus, a servant of the High priest and most likely "a priest to be", like him, but then in the "old order" he slew off the man’s right ear. He wanted to show Malchus that it was now impossible for him to be consecrated as a priest as required in Ex. 29:20 This was, as we understand, the nature of Peter, impulsive and straight off the handle! Yahshuah however rebuked Him and told him to put his sword away and He said:……..the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?" In other words: Is it your task to bring about the new priesthood with your interpretation and your human reasoning? Or is it rather my task to deal with the OLD MAN, with sin and iniquity and inaugurate a new beginning, a new way of coming a step closer to me, but not with the violence of the sword, but with the SWORD OF MY MOUTH! "……And He touched his ear, and healed him"Luke 22:51 He healed, his ear so he could hear. This must have made a tremendous impact on Malchus and it would not surprise me to hear that he changed ranks after this event, not just because of this miracle, but because…………"he could HEAR!"

I believe this is the meaning of this controversial verse. A scriptural text that is much used by people who advocate that in order to bring about the new world order or the new millennium, as many like to call it, we should start to administer the curses of the LAW.

The "curses of the LAW" is the punishment of   Israelites who are UNDER the Torah, as nobody else on the planet is.  It is ONLY Israelites who are under God's Torah, and thus ONLY Israelites who can violate God's Torah, and ONLY Israelites who thus suffer the "curses" of the Torah.  Yes, the "curses" of the Torah were nailed to the cross, but the Torah was NOT:

Colossians 2:14

Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; [King James Version]

God wiped out the charges that were against us for disobeying the Law of Moses. He took them away and nailed them to the cross. [Contemporary English Version]

We are progressing in time. Yahweh has already shown us that the LAW on itself does not bring about the purpose of His plan. Are we going to say: "Please Yahweh, give us another go, now we can do better as a few thousand years ago. No, He has shown us that it does not do its purpose on itself. The LAW needs more. I know I repeat myself, but it is important for you to understand how I see the steps in Fathers plan to accomplish His purpose for Israel as a people, as a nation and for each and every one of its members. So He gave an earnest of His spirit. Sure, we already have been given His breath, but at Pentecost in 33 AD He gave us more. He made available for them, who believed that His Son died for the sins of man, His spirit. Since then many were baptised and the gospel has been preached in the world to Israel in dispersion during the last 2000 years. This Pentecost anointing has brought Israel long periods of blessings and prosperity in the "old" and later in the "new worlds". However, Yahweh has shown many of us that even the earnest of the spirit added to the knowledge of the LAW could not, and never will, bring about His purpose. We are flesh and we cannot overcome the flesh by ourselves. This is an impossibility. As a nation we have experienced this under the Passover and the Pentecost anointing. We are finally in such a mess that the time is not far that we will cry out to Him for rescue. Again on an individual level, we need to come to a realisation that we cannot overcome our sins ourselves. This is impossible, we cannot even start. Our loving Father alone has total Sovereign power over us. He has given the anointing in us and it is through Yahshuah living His life in us that we can overcome. Yah-shuah which means Yahweh-Saviour. Only He is able to take away our sins and………………….REMOVE them. That first part, the taking away of our sins has been done at His first coming. However we are still in a Flesh body and very soon, with His Second Coming He will REMOVE our sins, our fleshly body will be changed and we will be given a glorified body. Flesh will be transformed in spirit; unlawfulness will be transformed into lawfulness. He does it all! WE CANNOT, WE WILL NOT. This is the great lesson for all of us. We have shown and experienced on a national and personal level that we cannot do it. How did Father show us that? By first giving us a guidance, His Truth, His LAW. After that He gave us His spirit, with that came our illusion that with the help of His spirit "we" could overcome. Not realising that through that spirit He would show us that we couldn’t do it. When does Father make us "see" it? For most of us, when we are at the end of our tatters. When we are hopelessly desperate and wanting to give up, than he has made us ready to fully admit His Sovereign power in our life. That is on a personal level. It is the same on a corporate level. Yes our society is at breaking point. What do you want? Going back and pick up the sword? Or fall on your knees, cry out and repent. Is the choice yours? Be comforted it is NOT. If you feel to fight, That is what you do. However rejoice, if Yahweh leads you to submission and shows you His Power.

Henk, prepare yourself now to meet God, because when you do, you're going to discover that He doesn't have a sense of humor, nor does He take kindly to those who treat His Torah like just so much toilet paper.

Perhaps the only way to prepare yourself is take another close look at the Torah and see how many violators of the Torah were blessed by God, and why God chose Abraham:

Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. Gen 26:5

May He bless you abundantly,
