If you do not study them, how can you ever hope to be able to refute them, Mr. Stone?  Remember, the writings of the Church Fathers are replete with detailed replies to heresies that were abounding in their day.  These satanically inspired perversions must be refuted so they will not lead others astray.  Your faith is strong and unassailable, but others are not as well informed as yourself.

How would reading it tell you whether it was a fake or not?

If reading the contents could tell you something useful, then sure.

But the information proving it is a fake is OUTSIDE the document.

In my example, if I wrote a FAKE book by Mohammed, you would not know by reading it whether it is fake or not.

But then  OUTSIDE the book, you watch my interview on television laughing about how I wrote this fake book that isn't real.

After you already have the information from OUTSIDE the document telling you it is not real, what more can you learn by reading the contents INSIDE the book?

What will you learn by reading a fake book?

I say the same thing about the Quran, or indeed the Talmud, or the Book of Mormon.

A demon appearing to Mohammed masquerading as an angel of light led Mohammed astray with lies.

Do I want to study those lies?  Why?  If I know they are lies from a demon, how will it help me to study them?

Joseph Smith claims that an angel appeared to him.  Again, Jesus tells me that no new gospel will be given.  Jesus' gospel must be preached to the entire world, and THEN the end will come.  Jesus tells me to NOT LISTEN to false prophets that come after Him, but when Jesus returns He will split the sky like lightning and ride in power on the clouds, and we will have no question that it is Jesus.

So do I want to study the Book of Mormon, after I already know it is not from God?

No, but if you don't know it's a fake, and you don't trust those who say it's valid, isn't it better to read it and find out for yourself?

am afraid you will have to do better than this, Mr. Niemela.  Nowhere have I used "obscure unrelated Bible verses."  Stop your incessant LYING and get down to business here.  Provide your PROOF that the verses I posted are "OBSCURE" and/OR "UNRELATED."

They are not.  You, as usual, are just stuck for answers again.  And when stuck you do the first predictable thing that comes to mind:  You post mendacious generalities and attack the poster.  I for one would not write one negative word about your behaviour here if you acted like a man of integrity and honour

This is really getting amateurish.

The Colonel sure called it right when he stepped out of this childish discussion weeks ago.  And here I am weeks later having to explain the difference between the House of Israel and the House of Judah, something any child who picks up the Holy Bible would have a hard time missing.

And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, a hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon . 1 Kings 12:21

Did the House of Israel and the House of Judah EVER come back together again?

Instead, they fought with and killed each other by the hundreds of thousands, if not millions:

1Ch 21:5

And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all [they of] Israel were a thousand thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah [was] four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword.

2Ch 28:6

For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day, which were all valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers.

2Ch 28:7

And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the governor of the house, and Elkanah that was next to the king.

2Ch 28:8

And the children of Israel carried away captive of their brethren two hundred thousand, women, sons, and daughters, and took also away much spoil from them, and brought the spoil to Samaria.

And you say "There is no such entity as a House of Israel aside from the twelve tribes collectively"!~

You just don't get it, do you?  The HOUSE OF ISRAEL comprises the 12 tribes sired by the sons of Jacob/Israel.  These twelve tribes collectively comprise ISRAEL.  Judah is one of those houses and is  one-twelfth part of ISRAEL.  End of story.  There is no such entity as a House of Israel aside from the twelve tribes collectively.  Thus, there is a house of Benjamin, House of Dan, House of Judah, House of Ruben, etc  Jacob had no son named Israel, thus Israel applies to all the 12 houses collectively.  You keep trying to dissociate Judah from Israel collectively but it cannot be done.  Each individual part comprises the whole.
