Passion?  Of "the Christ"?

This author tried twice to watch Mel Gibson's putative historical account of Scripture, and failed twice, not just because of the gruesome scenes, but because of two SERIOUS departures from Scripture:

Mathew 27:24 So when Pilate saw that he prevailed nothing, but rather that a tumult was arising, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; see ye to it.

Matthew 27:25 And all the people [jews] answered and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

John 18:36 Jesus said in answer, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom was of this world, my disciples would have made a good fight to keep me out of the hands of the Jews: but my kingdom is not here.

In the grossly misleading movie, Pilate had the glass of water in his hands, but failed to wash his hands of the matter, claim Jesus was a "righteous man", respond to their demand "His blood be on us and our children", and hand Jesus over to the jewish temple guards.  Either Matthew LIED, or Mel Gibson LIED by omission, and I choose to believe the latter.

Equally as heinous is failing to adhere to the script written by John which states quite clearly and succinctly that Jesus told Pilate exactly WHY His Disciples did not fight to keep Him OUT OF THE HANDS OF THE JEWS.  Why omit this part from the Word of God which changes the entire context of His Crucifixion, other than to protect jews who CLAIM to be the children of those who brutally murdered Jesus, and thus heirs to this blood their putative ancestors spilt.

There may be more later on in the movie, but having never gotten past the midpoint in watching this obscenity, they have yet to be revealed.

The Pope blessed this obscene abomination of a movie as an accurate representation of Scripture, for which there can be only two possible explanations:

bulletHe watched a different version of this movie "The Passion of the Christ" than the one we watched.
bulletHe is a LIAR.

These are not minor deviations from God's Plan--these are RADICAL, EXTREMIST, DISHONEST representations of the Word of God.  There can be no excuse for it, not even to "fight anti-semitism" or "protect the jews" who clearly do NOT deserve an ounce of protection from this putative Christian nation.

PASSION is a vivid depiction of the last 12 hours of Jesus Christ's life.
Sometime around the year A.D. 30, in the Roman province of Palestine, an obscure Jewish carpenter named Jesus of Nazareth began to teach publicly and to proclaim the coming of a 'Kingdom of God.' For centuries, the Jewish people had expected the appearance of a promised deliverer known as the Messiah --a figure who would restore their ancient dignity, and free their sacred homeland from all evil and despair. In the minds of many, Jesus appeared to be this Messiah. Surrounded by a core group of twelve disciples, Jesus began to attract a massive following from among the common people of Galilee and Judea, who eventually praised him as their Messiah and King. However, Jesus also had many enemies in Jerusalem. The Sanhedrin, a governing senate composed of the leading Jewish priests and Pharisees, conspired to put Jesus to death.
With the aid of Judas Iscariot, a member of Jesus' own inner circle, the Sanhedrin succeeded in arresting Jesus, handing him over to the Roman secular authorities on unsubstantiated charges of treason against Rome. Although Jesus consistently maintained that his Kingdom was a heavenly and spiritual one, the Roman procurator Pontius Pilate, faced with the possibility of a riot, ordered that Jesus be taken outside the city and crucified as a common criminal.

This little jew fairy tale is completely, totally contrary to the Scripture in the Holy Bible.  Jesus was not a jew, He was not a carpenter, He was never obscure, and it was Israelites, not jews, who prophesied the coming Messiah.

The excuse the jews made up for "handing Him over to the Roman authorities" was that He committed blasphemy, these "Roman authorities" refused to have anything to do with the matter and Pontias Pilate washed his hands of the matter and demanded that the jews "see to it".  After making such a statement, it's impossible that Pilate could have ordered anything regarding Christ, much less provided Roman soldiers for the task:

Mat 27:24 So when Pilate saw that he prevailed nothing, but rather that a tumult was arising, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man; see ye to it.
